Langley Students Thrive with PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs

Our charity would like to express our sincere thanks to Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund for funding our virtual workshops with schools in Langley this spring. Through your support, young people who have been socially isolated by COVID-19 distancing protocols have had the opportunity to participate in empowering skill-building activities and connect with caring community mentors.

Grade 7 student Ben was one of a select group of Langley students who had the chance to showcase their skills at an exciting online business pitch event for emerging entrepreneurs of all ages. He demonstrated his juggling ability with his Flip Stix product, presented an original commercial and networked with an audience of professors, university students and industry professionals.

Ben’s mother thanked his teachers for the project’s positive impact, describing it as “an amazing experience” for him. She shared, “I love that these opportunities kind of “open doors” to see the world a bit beyond our small COVID bubble we are living in right now…I just want to express gratefulness for you and your willingness to take this on to give these meaningful learning opportunities that stretch beyond the 4 walls of a classroom.”
