Layla’s Launch: Art Meets Entrepreneurship

Every beautiful creation starts from a spark. A moment where a young person feels encouraged to explore their ideas, express their creativity, and see what’s possible when their passions are celebrated. At PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs, that spark becomes a catalyst, helping students nurture their skills and channel them into real-world ventures they can feel proud of. 

Meet Layla: A Young Artist and Budding Young Entrepreneur  

Layla, a 12-year-old student whose artistry and compassion have shaped a beautiful business and an even more inspiring story through the PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs program. 

She is the designer behind Bookmark Boutique, a collection of creatively crafted bookmarks born from her lifelong love of art. That passion grew even deeper when she received a new digital drawing tablet over the holidays; a gift that opened doors for her to explore new hobbies, design boldly, and bring her illustrations to life. 

“I thought it would be a really cool idea to incorporate my art skills with my PowerPlay project,” she shared. Each bookmark reflects her attention to detail and enthusiasm, beautifully showcasing her love for making meaningful products.

Where Creativity Meets Compassion: Layla’s Commitment to Making a Difference 

More than a business, Layla’s Bookmark Boutique is also about impact. From the very beginning, she knew she wanted to support a cause she cares about. That’s why she chose to donate a portion of her profits to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity she deeply admires. After hearing about a child whose dream trip to Disneyland was made possible through the foundation, Layla felt inspired to help make more wishes come true.
